At GMFC our projects and aims are to encourage a healthy, active lifestyles for young people and support them with future skills for life. These projects require local support and funding for us to achieve our vision.
Through our community schemes and mentoring we have and continue to offer pathways and opportunities for our young people across our projects, with over 23 young people gaining accredited outcomes through the charity the last year.
GMFC also offer a number of youth skills projects where we empower our young people with the skills and confidence to achieve.
Improvements on a popular but previously dimly-lit pedestrian and cycling short-cut near Battersea Park is almost finished. The walkway underneath the railway arches has been given a £30,000 facelift. The underpass is used by many people in Ravent Street and links Queenstown Road to the Doddington and Rollo Estates.
Although convenient and well-used, some residents have said they would feel safer with better lighting and as a result plans were drawn up earlier this year for a £30,000 refurbishment of this key pedestrian route, and this work is now well underway. Full article here.
